Angela Cassidy
Inspired by clean lines, architectural structure, interior spaces, light and shade, her knitwear possesses a graphic element with subtle changes in lustre and texture. With controlled simplicity in her methods and exploration of technique, geometric pieces become cleverly constructed to produce organic silhouettes; creating sophisticated, wearable garments.
After completing a degree in Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art, Angela went on to graduate from the Royal College of Art in 2006 with an MA in Knitted Textiles. During her time there she made a successful transition from textiles into garment making – developing her own methodology for creating knitwear.
Since attending the Royal College of Art, Angela has worked for Missoni, Custo Barcelona, Les Chiffoniers and Richard Nicoll before embarking on her own.
From her debut Autumn Winter 2010 collection, Angela secured an exclusive collaborative deal with Browns and was awarded the 2010 Scottish Fashion Award for Textile Brand of the Year.
